Arms of Grace Summer Camp

If you are looking for quality, Christian based, fun and educational care for your children this simmer, then look no further! Arms of Grace Lutheran Church Summer Camp is the place to be. Here are a few details you may be interested in:

  • Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Price: $110 per week or $25 per day. 10% off for siblings. $100 per week for active church members.
  • Registration: April 1st through April 30th. Call Terri Garcia at 770-540-5850 to schedule your registration date and time. There is a one time $25 registration fee.
  • We serve ages 5 and up.
Now that you have the facts, let me explain what you and your child will receive from our program.

You will have peace of mind, knowing that your child will be taken care of in a loving and safe Christian environment. Your child will not be bored, sitting in front of the television or playing video games all summer.

Our program will offer breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.

Daily Schedule
7:30 a.m. – arrivals and sign in.

7:45 a.m. – breakfast and morning devotions

8:30 a.m. – play ground and outside activities

10:00 a.m. – morning snack

10:30 a.m. – weekly theme activities

12:00 p.m. – lunch and afternoon devotions

1:00 p.m. – reading time

2:00 p.m. – free center activities, child's choice

3:00 p.m. – afternoon snack

3:30 p.m. – playground and outside activities

5:00 p.m. – complete projects, clean up, gather materials for departure

6:00 p.m. – parent pick-up

This schedule is subject to change without notice, field trips, guest speakers, and special projects may alter this schedule, however, drop-off and pick-up times will not vary.


Weekly Activities
June 9-13 “Getting to know you” week the beginning of new friendships. Field trip to pizza place.

June 16-20th “Our fine feathered friends” week, learning about local bird life, their habits, making bird houses, bird feeders and creating an area for our feathered friends to “hang out”. Field trip to aviary.

June 23rd –27th “Gardening Week” learning about the beginning of our food sources, clothing sources, and what it takes to bring these things to completion. We will plant a small garden to harvest along with plants for our bird friends. Field trip to farm or gardens.

June 30th – July 3rd “International Week” A trip around the world in four days learning about the beginnings of four countries, Egypt, Africa, South America, and Mexico, their customs, food, languages, and dress. Sampling food from each of these countries.

July 4th - Closed.

July 7th –11th “Wacky Water Week” Our water - where does it come from? How are we able to drink it? Plus a fun filled week of each child bringing their bathing suits and a water toy each day. Field trip to water treatment plant.

July 14th- 18th; “Careers Week” What do you want to be when you grow up? A journey into our community to learn about our community workers and what they do for us. Visits from city workers, police, firemen, hospital workers and more.

July 21st – 25th “Nature Week” Learning about creation and all that exists around us. Identifying local wildlife and plant life. Field trip to Fort Yargo.

July 28th – August 1st “Animal Week” How animals help us, as pets, as workers, what they provide for us and how this came to be. Field trip to alpaca farm.

August 4th – 8th “Cookie Week” Where did the cookie come from? How did it get its name? Are all cookies the same? A new cookie each day.

August 11th – 14th Wrap it up Week” A review of all that we have learned, finishing up of projects, August 14th cookout with parents, small presentation by children.

August 15th First day of School.
